Farewell to His Holiness Pope Shenouda III

We, the Coptic Church, bid farewell to our beloved father HH Pope Shenouda III as he has departed the earth for heaven on March 17, 2012 and ask him to remember us in front of the Lord. May the Lord repose his soul in the Heavenly Jerusalem and comfort us all.

His Holiness was the 117th Pope of Alexandria and successor of the See of St. Mark. He shepherded his flock for 41 years after his predecessor HH Pope Kyrollos (Cyril) VI. He was also one who was committed to Christian Unity. To learn more about His Holiness you may visit the Coptic Pope website or Wikipedia’s page about him.

[Another] New Website

Aside

Again, (and hopefully the last time) the time came for the website’s software to be changed because it was becoming difficult to use, update and customize. Hopefully WordPress will be the last software we use. This site will take over as the new website in the coming weeks as the photo galleries are made and fixed. I encourage anyone in the congregation who’s interested in contributing time and know-how to the website and it’s design to please let me know.

First Time All Night Kiahk Praise

On Friday, December 12th we will be having our first time all night Kiahk Praise ending in Liturgy. This is different than the other times we had Kiahk Praise at night and then the next day we would have Liturgy separately.

On December 12th we will start Kiahk Praise at 10pm and go all the way until 4am Saturday morning. Then we will pray Liturgy from 4am – 6am.

We could not do the Kiahk Praises due to the bad weather. We did pray Liturgy the next day at its regular time.
