Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!
We wish everyone a Blessed Feast of Resurrection.
Hoping that the Resurrection of Christ enters into every home with joy and blessings.
We, the Coptic Church, bid farewell to our beloved father HH Pope Shenouda III as he has departed the earth for heaven on March 17, 2012 and ask him to remember us in front of the Lord. May the Lord repose his soul in the Heavenly Jerusalem and comfort us all.
His Holiness was the 117th Pope of Alexandria and successor of the See of St. Mark. He shepherded his flock for 41 years after his predecessor HH Pope Kyrollos (Cyril) VI. He was also one who was committed to Christian Unity. To learn more about His Holiness you may visit the Coptic Pope website or Wikipedia’s page about him.
Again, (and hopefully the last time) the time came for the website’s software to be changed because it was becoming difficult to use, update and customize. Hopefully WordPress will be the last software we use. This site will take over as the new website in the coming weeks as the photo galleries are made and fixed. I encourage anyone in the congregation who’s interested in contributing time and know-how to the website and it’s design to please let me know.
HG Bishop David will bless us on August 13, 2011 by praying liturgy. This day would mark the 8th anniversary of our church starting in the area. Liturgy will be from 8:30am – 11:30am with aghaby afterwards.
I’m sorry to inform you that Nelly’s mother has passed away in Egypt. We offer her and her family our condolences and sympathies. May God respose her soul in the Heavenly Kingdom.
Our church will celebrate its seven year anniversary on August 28th 2010 God-willing. HG Bishop David will bless us with his presence and by praying the Holy Liturgy with us.
Our 2009 Coptic Festival photos are up. Further photo editing will happen during the week.
Fr. Ruwais from St. George Church in Abu Qurqas (Southern Egypt also know as Es-Saed) visited us while Fr. Youssef was in Egypt. Pictures will be posted soon.
On Friday, December 12th we will be having our first time all night Kiahk Praise ending in Liturgy. This is different than the other times we had Kiahk Praise at night and then the next day we would have Liturgy separately.
On December 12th we will start Kiahk Praise at 10pm and go all the way until 4am Saturday morning. Then we will pray Liturgy from 4am – 6am.
We could not do the Kiahk Praises due to the bad weather. We did pray Liturgy the next day at its regular time.
I’m sorry to inform you that Tasoni Mary’s (Fr. Youssef’s wife) father has passed away last Sunday in Egypt. We offer her, Abouna and her family our condolences and sympathies. May God respose his soul in the Heavenly Kingdom.
